(cant remember their names sorry) The tour of Athens was a walking tour were they accommodated to our pace two older parents, and the heat. It was great we walked around the Akropolis and partheon and had ipads so we could see what the ruins actually looked like. [...]

"We took a 2 week private tour that commenced in Athens and continued around to Delphi, Olympia and Galaxidi before heading down to the Mani, across to Monemvasia and Nafplio. She really knew the ins and outs of every location we visited and there were many. We did a 7hr ALL day tour that lasted right around 9hrs because she was so patient and involved. In just 4 hours, we learned not only about Ancient Greece, but about more recent history . We discussed education, politics , economy, and lighter topics as well! Our time was filled with lively conversation, walking through areas we might never have found on our own, and had we somehow stumbled upon the areas, would not have known the significance of it without her input. The pace was quick yet somehow relaxing, as she included a stop for Greek coffee and later, a lunch-on-the-go snack. "My husband and I and our two teenage sons spent five hours with George exploring some of the less touristy neighborhoods of Athens. We learned about modern Greek politics by seeing neighborhood sites and street art (i.e., graffiti). Wonderful day tour
We shared a day with Anthia and Natalie and went to the Acropolis, the old part of Athens, markets, and parts of Athens we would never have thought to visit ourselves. They gave us restaurant suggestions and took us to a "locals" restaurant for lunch. They were very informative and we felt like we were doing a day tour with friends and family. I would defintiely do another tour with the girls and hhighly recommend anyone coming to Athens to do this tour particularly if you are only there for a short time in Athens.

Myself and my husband just came back from Athens where we had a great tour with Athens Insiders.We are no big history buffs and were looking for a tour that would cover a bit of everything, and our guide Anthia gave us just that!!! She was very friendly and considerate and shared really interesting information with us. We learnt all sort of things about the city of Athens and Greek people, and felt really pampered. Its one of the best tours we have ever done and we definitely recommend it!
Amazing Way to Experience Athens
We spent an afternoon touring Athens on foot with Anthia and can't say more about our experience. The group was made up of just the 3 of us (myself, my fiancé & Anthia) and because of this the tour was very personalised and flexible. When we felt like stopping for a quick drink we did and Anthia was able to give us tailored information and recommendations. She also took us to places that we would not have normally been able to see in a big tour group and explained the current political and economic context on top of just the historical facts. It was absolutely lovely... a highlight of our visit!

Fun Two Days of Touring in Athens
We used Athens Insiders for two day's worth of tours and our airport transfers. They handled everything so easily and I can't thank them enough for making Athens enjoyable for us. Anthia took us on a half day walking tour around the Acropolis. It was a nice leisurely walk, with interesting stops and history lessons along the way. On the second day we met Chef George and toured the markets and local shops. He was a lot of fun, and we concluded our day with him by having a leisurely lunch and learning the proper way to drink Ouzo. I highly recommend Athens Insiders!
These guys made me love Athens
I'm not a big city girl at ALL and so I arranged this tour with Athens Insiders (at the suggestion of a friend) so I could have a more personalized, hands-on tour. It was perfect. I wish I had delayed a day so I wasn't so tired, but that's my own fault.
Really great, personalized experience. Got an excellent feel for Athens, LOVE the city. The guides felt more like friends than guides. Daphne even invited me out for dinner with some friends the following evening. Very grateful to have met these ladies.
Amazing food and great people
We got picked up at our hotel lobby by or executive chef, George and he took us around the local markets and gave us some insight as to where the food comes from and what makes it so special. We ended up in a very nice house where George and his assistant started explaining us the menu we chose and how we were going to proceed. Everything was so fresh! We pureed our own tomatoes for the sauce, learned how to do everything in our 5 course dinner in a hands on approach. It was a blast and the freshness of the food and quality of the preparation was so good we can still taste it. We also got professional pics and the recipes to keep with us so we can try to reinvent it ourselves. A great experience, a must-do!
A unique and excellent experience
We reached out to Athens Insiders several months before going to Greece and were immediately impressed by them. One of the co-founders communicated with us several times to be sure our walk would be customized to our interests, time schedule and even to consider the fact that my sister has bad asthma that makes walking uphill and some other activities very difficult. We went on the walk on our last full day in Athens (would make more sense to do it earlier in your stay) and we learned a lot and all of our needs/hopes were exceeded. [...]''
Experience Athens to the fullest
Ever wanted to experience Athens to fullest, catch the vibe, feel what makes the place tick? This is what AthensInsiders has to offer you. My partner and I were taken on this wonderfull custom-built tour to the gastronomical highlights of the city. And, boy did we get that, even causing a stuffed feeling by the end of it :-) However, even in the middle of the tour there was still room to get sidetracked and elaborate a little on the history of the city, it's churches, local habits... You do get the feel you are shown around by an insider passionate about life in this vibrant city!

Better from the inside
Every time i travel, i like to feel like i've scraped under the skin of a place. I hadn't actually spent time in Athens for many years; i used to stay one or two nights on my way back from the islands, and had ticked off most of the usual big hitting tourist attractions (the Acropolis, Plaka, Mt Lycabettus, etc). So when i returned a few weeks ago as part of an assignment on street art, i was very interested to have a tour which would show me parts of the city I'd never seen. Most fun we have had! This is a quality group that made what little time we had in Athens a memorable experience. We couldn't recommend them any higher.
Make the best use of your time
There is so much to see and so much history to absorb in Athens, it can be overwhelming, if you are not taking a group tour. Since my sister and I are not group tour fans and we have been to Athens before, we wanted a personalized walking tour. Our guide, a pleasant, knowledgeable young woman, tailored the tour to our needs, and we were very pleased with the results. We were with her for a few hours and she expertly answered our questions and was very friendly, informative and spoke excellent English. It was a relaxed pace and we enjoyed it very much. If you want to use your time wisely, get a guide for a walking tour!

We were a group of friends with 3 kids who have a nasty experience with our airline company. We were supposed to arrive in Athens at 6PM and arrived at 12PM. So just after a “small” 6 hours delay :( we arrived in Athens at midnight. To be honest I don’t know many people, who would take their time to wait for you for this long to take you to the rented house. Alex did and for this has all my appreciation! He also offered and tried to help us with the rental car company who of course closed their offices at that hour! I truly recommend their services and be sure that you can count on them.

Extraordinary guides!!
Insiders provide much more than an ordinary tour with a canned talk and a few attempts at humor. 12 wonderful days
We booked a 12 day private trip across mainland Northern Greece with Athens Insiders. Anthia was very responsive on planning our tour and we loved all the activities she proposed us. During our trip our driver and all the guides were knowledgeable and always willing to assist us on every request. We are so excited, and we already plan to visit Greece again on spring for a road trip in Peloponnese, with the Athens Insiders!
Wonderful experience
I was assigned a guide/driver for my week long trip through the Peloponnese, and my experience could not have been better. Everything worked with clockwork precision, and I also got to spend a week with one of the nicest, most interesting, and helpful people that I have ever met. Yannis' Food Tour was EXCELLENT!
Did a walking food tour with Yannis as our guide. He was EXCELLENT!! (I really don't think I put enough exclamation points). He was very flexible to the needs of our group of 7 and provided a great mix of Athens food and historic sites, but also he was relaxed and not rushed. We thoroughly enjoyed his company, and his extensive knowledge. I highly recommend Athens Insiders and specifically Yannis to anyone looking for a relaxed tour of Athens grastronomy and its various neighborhoods and sites.

Exquisite food tour with insight and history
Yiannis did a fantastic job on our tour, and this was the highlight of our time in Athens. The food/ restaurant choices were great. He was very passionate about his work, and very educated about the food... not just the flavors but the history as well. We covered a lot of ground on our tour, which is what we wanted. I would do the tour again in a heartbeat if I return to Athens!

The Best of the Best - Our Guides
We toured with Athens Insiders for 6 days. We had a food tour, a city tour and a four day tour through the mainland. Athens Insiders planned a very impressive trip, visiting family owned wineries, caves, ancient sights and ruins. The day guides were fun, friendly and very knowledgeable. One guide, Yannis, was with us for four full days and he was like part of the family. His knowledge and caring brought our trip to new heights. We missed him when we left. Absolutely use Athens Insiders to guide through the amazing country of Greece.
Incredibly engaging and informative tour of Athens street art and modern politics
My husband and I and our two teenage sons spent five hours with George exploring some of the less touristy neighborhoods of Athens. We learned about modern Greek politics by seeing neighborhood sites and street art (i.e., graffiti). George was incredibly knowledgeable and was able to make the tour as interesting for our sons as it was for the adults. As one of our kids said afterwards, "I wasn't bored for the entire time" -- somewhat of a miracle for a teenager, and truly a testament to how engaging George was! George also made sure that we got to stop and eat and drink in off-the-beaten path but truly delicious places.
Best tour ever!
We had Christos meet us at our hotel lobby. Can I tell you, he was the most engaging, informative and fun. He took us through some amazing neighborhoods that had we not taken the tour, we most likely wouldn't have found on our own. And little tidbits about buildings, etc in each neighborhood we went through. We went through a marketplace indigenous to the people of Athens as well as restaurants too. When you are eating at a restaurant locals go, you know it's going to be good. And, it was. We had unique Greek coffee, Christos explained, the breads, the sweet spoons, and every destination was just as unique as the one before [...]''

Fantastic / Highly Recommend
This was exactly what we were looking for. George was great keeping both us and our early 20 kids engaged. The food was good but we really enjoyed the off script stuff that George showed us and talked about. His enthusiasm for the food and helping us understand the culture was great. He also is a Johnny Cash fan which we lived since we are from Nashville.
Flavors of Athens
We just finished and amazing culinary tour of Athens with George. We had 3 generations from age 13-75 and everyone had a wonderful time, enjoyed food and drink and learned a ton about food and Greek history and culture while walking around the city. Our itinerary was adjusted real time based on some requests. We highly recommend the experience and if possible book George as your guide, he is a trained chef and very knowledgeable on a variety of subjects.

We had the absolute BEST experience. For starters, we got lost and didn’t make it to the meet up point on time (or at all) our guide Nota somehow found us and I still don’t know how she did it. She was the nicest person and made sure that we had an amazing tour even though we were a little short on time. Without her we would not have appreciated the rich history of the Acropolis. We were very, very enthusiastic about our guide Jakob. He guided us through Athens off the beaten track and impressed us with his historical and political knowledge of Athens (and Greece in general). He ended the stroll through Athens with us in a magical restaurant in Plaka (Yiasemi). Through Jacob we got a wonderful impression of this historic city and through him we were able to see Athens and Greece from a completely different perspective!

We booked two tours in a row and had the impression that we had experienced and seen more than others don't see in one week. Wanda has adjusted to us perfectly and I can warmly recommend starting the Acropolis early in the morning. Our guides were super punctual and it was a lot of fun to experience the Greek way of life both in ancient times and in Athens today. Food tour with Jacob from Vienna was authentic and delicious!

Fantastic custom tour
We were very enthusiastic about our tour guide Jakob, who calmly brought us closer to Athens - with a lot of historical and current knowledge. Of all the city tours that we have done so far, this was the most individual and the best. You had the feeling of following a friend who brings you closer to your city than an official city guide. City walk that has an effect
We were only briefly in Athens and wished for a city walk that could show us something about the "real" Athens and the life of the people here, off the beaten track. Our young city guide gave us exactly that - with a lot of knowledge and depth. In terms of the atmosphere, we had the feeling that we were traveling with a friend rather than a "professional". We had a completely tailor-made program put together. Admittedly, my expectations were limited. But this team really surprised me. We called on Athens Insiders to help us discover Greece.They built a special program for us, from reception at the airport, to a guided tour in French of the acropolis and Athens, Mycenae but also of 'Olympia. The two French-speaking guides that we had were able to share with us their passion for their country and its monuments. We booked the tour through TripAdvisor reviews. I confess that I was afraid, because I don't like tours organized in advance, I like to feel the moment. But the tour exceeded expectations. Our guide was Yannis. We talked a little bit about everything, from ancient Greek history to the current geopolitical situation. He took us to the tallow stores behind Iliada in ancient Greek, which I'm sure I wouldn't be able to do on my own. We did an olive oil tasting and talked about Greek wines. We ended up on a food street. The differential of this tour is to be in improvisation, tailor-made according to the wishes of the moment. This is unique!
