"You can walk up to the roof of the New Cultural Centre, passing through some lovely public gardens on the sloped roof of one of the buildings. From the main rooftop, you'll be able to overlook the marina's and get a gorgeous view of the sea and, if you're there at the right time of day, of the sunset.
Inside you'll find a sort of public library on the top floor, with a very laid-back atmosphere. There is also a small cupcake-and-coffee corner.[...]"

Yorgos Madianos was an exceptional guide, he was able to tell the story behind each art and gave a lot to understand how much he understood the subject. Fantastic
Hi, I visited this beautiful museum for the second time last week. It is rightly considered one of the richest in works (most of which are very ancient and well preserved) to be admired. Absolutely not to be missed and photographed room by room. The Top, for me, is the huge statue of Zeus and the hall full of wonderful busts!
Seeing the Pantheon by moonlight from our bedroom window in the Noble Suites on the first night simply set the scene for the end
"We took a 2 week private tour that commenced in Athens and continued around to Delphi, Olympia and Galaxidi before heading down to the Mani, across to Monemvasia and Nafplio. Explore Athens walking tour
"We had a walking tour with Yannis and it was incredible!! It was just my husband and I which was great, but would be fun for a larger group as well. Yannis was incredibly intelligent and very well versed on the history of Athens, as well as current events. We got to see some of the more popular neighborhoods, but also areas that we definitely would not have seen without doing this tour. We saw beautiful street art, had Greek coffee and Greek desserts. We loved our time and it was SO worth doing. Especially with Yannis, he was so much fun to be with!!! Highly highly recommend."

Cooking with Chef George
If I were on death row, I would want Chef George to prepare my last meal! He taught us how to purchase food and prepare for a great meal this is one is personable. He was fun he was personable and we highly recommend Chef George to anyone. We tried to hire him to come to the US to be our chef but sadly he declined.
Experience Greek food culture up close!
We were on the way with our guide Panos, who gave us insights into the Greek eating and drinking culture. First we were on a quiet roof terrace, where we tasted Greek coffee, olive oil and honey. Then we had puff pastry delicacies filled with feta, meat and spinach. Later we visited a market where we tasted olives, meat and fish. Then we visited an Armenian restaurant, which had feta, figs and various types of meat and sausage products. Later there was the typical Greek dish souvlaki and finally we tried baklava with ice cream in a small pastry shop. All in all, we were very satisfied with the tour and our very friendly guide Panos. I highly recommend the tour to everyone.
Super duper great tour
We were traveling with our guide Panos. He showed us unique glimpses of Greek cuisine. We were allowed to try everything from authentic Greek coffee to freshly fished fish. Panos designed the tour according to our wishes. I can only recommend the tour.
Flavor explosion seasoned with unique insights into Greek life!
First we went to see the Acropolis on our own and then met up with our guide Panos. First he took us to a hidden coffee shop with a cozy roof terrace and there we tasted different types of honey and olive oils over a cup of Greek coffee. The calm in this actually very lively city was heavenly. Then we continued towards the city center, where we tasted delicious bites of puff pastry that were prepared in front of our eyes and filled with feta, chicken or spinach. Then we went to the central food market, where Panos, who reports on life in Athens all the time, let us taste some types of olives. In a small, hidden place between the meat and fish market, there were small samples that tasted very tasty. [...]''

Outstanding - Flavors of Athens walking tour
We recently took the walking Flavors of Athens tour. Our guide was Yannis, an architectural, history, religious, chef. What a four-hour tour - it ended too soon.
Yannis took us to his favorite local stops:
• First dried nuts and fruits, candies
• Second, a street stand for Koulouri, sort of a Greek bagel. Apparently, Greeks have coffee at home and stop for these on the way to work.[...]''

Just great!
We were very, very enthusiastic about our guide Jakob. He guided us through Athens off the beaten track and impressed us with his historical and political knowledge of Athens (and Greece in general). He ended the stroll through Athens with us in a magical restaurant in Plaka (Yiasemi). Through Jacob we got a wonderful impression of this historic city and through him we were able to see Athens and Greece from a completely different perspective!

We had the absolute BEST experience. For starters, we got lost and didn’t make it to the meet up point on time (or at all) our guide Nota somehow found us and I still don’t know how she did it. She was the nicest person and made sure that we had an amazing tour even though we were a little short on time. Without her we would not have appreciated the rich history of the Acropolis. We met Chef George in Plaka directly after our tour of the ruins. He introduced himself and our first stop was a little cafe for coffee and early morning desserts. We talked about American mobster movies while he taught us all about Greek coffee traditions while sampling desserts from the area. After that as we walked to the markets we talked about past and present culture of Athens. Arriving at the meat market we were able to see all the fresh meat and fish available to buy. [...]''

"My husband and I and our two teenage sons spent five hours with George exploring some of the less touristy neighborhoods of Athens. We learned about modern Greek politics by seeing neighborhood sites and street art (i.e., graffiti). George was incredibly knowledgeable and was able to make the tour as interesting for our sons as it was for the adults. Terrific Tour with George
George was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Athens as well as street art around town. He took us through the Byzantine history of the city in one segment, and the incredible open market in another. We finished up with a cooking class in a beautiful space and enjoyed a meal and chit chatting about sports by the end. Highly, highly recommend.

Flavors of Athens
We just finished and amazing culinary tour of Athens with George. We had 3 generations from age 13-75 and everyone had a wonderful time, enjoyed food and drink and learned a ton about food and Greek history and culture while walking around the city. Our itinerary was adjusted real time based on some requests. We highly recommend the experience and if possible book George as your guide, he is a trained chef and very knowledgeable on a variety of subjects.

Incredible Tour!
Panos was available for any request from us and from the beginning it left us totally at ease and gave us lots of tips about the city, such as where to have lunch and a drink. All the food we tried during the tour was fantastic. immense for those who want to spend an active afternoon on the streets of Athens and want to get to know Greek gastronomy.
Having a blast while exploring Athens
Having this tour was definitely worth it, as I got to see the little corners of Athens by the eye of a local. The tour started with the visit to the Acropolis, one of the wonders of Greece, and continued with a walk around the centre of Athens with an insightful local. Walking around the centre, I got to try amazing delicacies and understand more about the food culture of Greece. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who is visiting Greece for the first time and wants to have a unique experience.
Amazing Day!
My wife and I did this tour/cooking class with George and his team and it was amazing! We walked through the market and learned how to pick the best meat/fish. Then we went and cooked a traditional Greek meal with them, which was also amazing. The best part of the whole day is that they were relatable, we talked about sports, Ancient Greece, Modern Greece, and everything in between. It was 100% an amazing day and highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Athens!

This was exactly what we were looking for. George was great keeping both us and our early 20 kids engaged. The food was good but we really enjoyed the off script stuff that George showed us and talked about. His enthusiasm for the food and helping us understand the culture was great. We had the Acropolis tour for children (ours are 10 and 8 years old) with Stelios as a guide and the tablets with the 3D visualizations. It was a perfect fit, and the duration of 2 hours is sufficient.

Nota is an archeologist who grew up in Athens and is very knowledgeable and passionate about the history and culture. She was considerate of of needs and we really enjoyed our 6 hours with her. We learned so much more than we ever would have in days on our own. She met us at our hotel and finished in the Plaka with an easy stroll home. You should have sturdy walking shoes for all tours in Athens. Marble is very slippery! And take a snack with you as we didn't have lunch to 2:30 after a 9:00 am start.

Interesting, historical and delicious!
I took the acropolis and food tour which is 8 people maximum. First we went to the Acropolis with a guide, which was very interesting because the guide knew a lot and was enthusiastic about it. Unfortunately, we didn't have much time to look around the Acropolis. Then the food tour continued, which was an absolute highlight! The guide was open-minded and told lots of "inside" information about local food and the culture of Greece. You could try a lot and in the end you were definitely full. It was a beautiful day that felt like spending it with friends and it was educational too.

Delphi visit
We are from Washington DC area with three teenage boys. Took Athens insiders private tour , Yannis arrived at the right time and drove us to Delphi, 3 hours ride from Athens.
He kept us and the kids completely engaged with Athens' historical, political, economic, agriculture, and educational system. Yannis is very knowledgeable, funny, and friendly guy. Took a pit stop at a good place to grab food. Also stopped at a nice scenic spot for my Nikon D750.
On the way back stopped at an authentic Greek restaurant Kalpamis, great food. We loved the food.

George's passion and knowledge of Greek gastronomy was inspirational and so enjoyable. Chef George food tour
We decided to do the "food tour" and that was with chef George. I can honestly say I was not prepared for this surprise. I actually got a guide with a few common interests. Urban street art,music,style,hobbies and clearly food. He has a very educational back ground but is also a very fun and light hearted guide. He made it interesting. We made our stops,tried multiple "traditional" delights,and even got introduced to work of certain artists. Even took his time to help us as we walked through the market to negotiate an item at the market [...]''

Athens Insiders Tours - Flavors of Athens with George - Exceptional!
Chef George took three on a four hour walking tour of Athens. It was exceptional in every way! By way of background, George was a private chef for several years so well versed in Greek cuisine and culture. Friendly, articulate and fluent in English, George led us through the streets of Athens as we visited restaurants, pastry shops, local meat and fish markets and spice galleries. All along the way he treated us to samples of Greece's wonderful cuisine with detailed explanations on ingredients and preparations. George added thoughtful historical details of the city and its surroundings along the way. We had an exceptional afternoon and highly recommend George and his Athens Insider Flavor of Athens tour.

Fantastic custom tour
We were very enthusiastic about our tour guide Jakob, who calmly brought us closer to Athens - with a lot of historical and current knowledge. Of all the city tours that we have done so far, this was the most individual and the best. You had the feeling of following a friend who brings you closer to your city than an official city guide. With the help of the tour we were able to explore the city very well on our own in the following days.

Perfect tour for children and adults
The private Acropolis tour was great thanks to our guide Stelios! He understood how to make the tour varied and exciting for our children and us, and with his great knowledge he was able to respond to our questions again and again and to weave exciting stories on the most varied of aspects. At this point we would like to thank Stelios very much :-)! We had rented the mini ipads, and they were the perfect visual addition to our tour, and showed us perfectly implemented 3D scenarios of the Acropolis at the time of its heyday! We were the only ones with the Ipads, and other visitors often tried to catch a glimpse of them ;-)! Absolutely to be recommended!

Amazing Treasure Hunt in Athens
We wanted to do something both educational and fun for our children durinh the Easter holidays and we found Athens Insiders on TripAdvidor. The best choice we could ever make. Iliana was our guide for the day, and helped our children, as well as us the adults, find out so much we didn't know about the history and culture of our own city! Our children loved her! City walk that has an effect
We were only briefly in Athens and wished for a city walk that could show us something about the "real" Athens and the life of the people here, off the beaten track. Our young city guide gave us exactly that - with a lot of knowledge and depth. In terms of the atmosphere, we had the feeling that we were traveling with a friend rather than a "professional". Nota absolutely made our time in Athens. Met us at our Air-BnB and walked up to to the Acropolis. She struck the perfect balance of archeologist/teacher/guide for our 8,10,12, and 40 year kids. We did the 2.5 hour orientation tour followed by a 1.5 hour tour with 8 people. Our tour guide Stelios was very well prepared. From the millennia-old history of Athens to the current political situation in Greece, he knew how to report in perfect German, rich in anecdotes. The orientation tour started at Monastiraki Square, took us through the Agora and around the Acropolis. The tour in a new luxury minibus went through the government district past all the important museums and ended with a visit to Mount Lykavittos, which gave us a great view of Athens all the way to the sea. Athens Gourmet Tour
A professional Greek chef named Yorgos and his assistant Marie took us on a fascinating tour of local markets where we were given a short history of Greek culinary traditions and bought fresh ingredients for our subsequent cooking class. Our chefs did a wonderful job of both teaching and entertaining us in a modern and cozy kitchen in the heart of Athens for a hands-on cooking experience. Highly recommended!
Excellent tour with George
We chose this tour in an effort to get to know the Athens where we grew up. We met George in Monastiraki and he took us on a unique trip to the alleys of Kerameikos, Metaxourgeio and the area of Psyrri. He passed on not only his knowledge of street art but also his enthusiasm for us to discover it ourselves. We had a wonderful time and saw a part of Athens that neither of us had ever seen. Fantastic kids treasure hunt tour
We had a fantastic tour on Boxing Day with kostos. It was the kid friendly treasure hunt your. Our 8 year old kids loved it & so did we. It was a great way for all of us to see the sights whilst making it fun for the kids. At each stop they had to complete challenges (e.g. Take photo, colour in, answer questions, do a jigsaw, work out where we were going using the map, write their name in Greek, play a game etc). It made the tour so much fun for them and when they got a challenge right they got a piece of pottery and at the end they needed to use the pottery for a final challenge! [...]''

Become an Ancient Athenian for a Day
"This activity was a favorite with my kids. They really enjoyed dressing up like ancient Athenians. My youngest loved learning to write her name in Greek and has been writing everything in Greek since our tour. They loved playing statue and learned a lot on the walking tour. The snack was good and the craft was fun. The length of the tour was also good, perfect to catch their attention and enjoy, but not so long they got bored. The only thing I would do differently is not put the goodies we got in a carryon on the way home. Security took our olive oil and the tangerine treat, before we even got to try them. Overall a great tour."

This is an exceptionally good tour. George clearly knows all the good spots and can talk very knowledgeably, since he used to work as a chef. His English is fluent and he managed to cover politics, history, food and just about anything else you are keen to know about. We sampled souvlaki, doughnuts, Greek coffee, baklava with mastic ice-cream, nuts and Greek savoury pies. I recommend you have a very light breakfast. We also visited the meat and fish markets where George showed us the freshest of ingredients. What was perhaps more surprising was how well he was able to engage with my young children (six and nine). [...]''

Great way to experience The Acropolis and surrounding area
This was an excellent tour of The Acropolis, the Acropolis Museum, and the surrounding area. It is a lot of walking, but the pace was manageable. Angela was our guide and was extremely knowledgable and kind. We highly recommend this tour as a great way to experience some amazing history in Athens.

Excellent Acropolis and Acropolis Museum Tour
While we could have opted to do this ourselves, we went with Athens Insiders and definitely made the right choice. The booking was easy, we were collected at our hotel and experienced a wonderful few hours touring the acropolis and acropolis museum. We got so much more out of the experience than doing ourselves.
Best tour ever!
We had Christos meet us at our hotel lobby. Can I tell you, he was the most engaging, informative and fun. He took us through some amazing neighborhoods that had we not taken the tour, we most likely wouldn't have found on our own. And little tidbits about buildings, etc in each neighborhood we went through. We went through a marketplace indigenous to the people of Athens as well as restaurants too. When you are eating at a restaurant locals go, you know it's going to be good. And, it was. We had unique Greek coffee, Christos explained, the breads, the sweet spoons, and every destination was just as unique as the one before [...]''
Informative, well paced tour!
Had a great tour with Eleni of the acropolis and museum. It was well paced & very informative. I appreciated that we were able to customized our tour and adjust the times to fit with our tight schedule. Eleni was awesome and knew the ins and outs of greek history and mythology. Would definite book Athens insiders again! Can be pricier because all tours are customized and private but very worth it!

The Best of the Best - Our Guides
We toured with Athens Insiders for 6 days. We had a food tour, a city tour and a four day tour through the mainland. Athens Insiders planned a very impressive trip, visiting family owned wineries, caves, ancient sights and ruins. The day guides were fun, friendly and very knowledgeable. One guide, Yannis, was with us for four full days and he was like part of the family. His knowledge and caring brought our trip to new heights. We missed him when we left. Absolutely use Athens Insiders to guide through the amazing country of Greece.
Our best experience in Greece!
We did the tour with the theme of politics. This activity was the most rewarding of our trip to Greece. Alex was able to pass on the history of Greece to us since WWII. This tour is a must to better understand the political challenges that Greece is currently experiencing.

We called on Athens Insiders to help us discover Greece.They built a special program for us, from reception at the airport, to a guided tour in French of the acropolis and Athens, Mycenae but also of 'Olympia. The two French-speaking guides that we had were able to share with us their passion for their country and its monuments. They adapted to the whole family (9 year old child) and were particularly considerate (bottle of water, poses, turn around to look for a lost and found bag ..) A big thank you to all, with you this trip has met all of our expectations.
Incredibly engaging and informative tour of Athens street art and modern politics
My husband and I and our two teenage sons spent five hours with George exploring some of the less touristy neighborhoods of Athens. We learned about modern Greek politics by seeing neighborhood sites and street art (i.e., graffiti). George was incredibly knowledgeable and was able to make the tour as interesting for our sons as it was for the adults. As one of our kids said afterwards, "I wasn't bored for the entire time" -- somewhat of a miracle for a teenager, and truly a testament to how engaging George was! George also made sure that we got to stop and eat and drink in off-the-beaten path but truly delicious places.

Food tour of central Athens, great way to learn about the culture and history of the city.
My family of five spent five hours with George, walking through the central part of Athens, stopping at shops, cafes and the wholesale food market to sample olive oils, coffee, spanakopita, baclava, souvlaki and other treats. The tour was very interesting and George made it really fun with his enthusiasm for great food and commentary about Greek history and culture. I recommend this tour if you are interested in seeing something different in Athens and/or love Greek cuisine.
Exquisite food tour with insight and history
Yiannis did a fantastic job on our tour, and this was the highlight of our time in Athens. The food/ restaurant choices were great. He was very passionate about his work, and very educated about the food... not just the flavors but the history as well. We covered a lot of ground on our tour, which is what we wanted. I would do the tour again in a heartbeat if I return to Athens!

This is a terrific company. Yiannis appeared at our hotel on time, of course, and took us around Plaka and more of the old part of Athens on what was billed as a food tour, but it was much more than that. Yiannis is extremely knowledgeable (and very friendly). He took us to places where we could sample authentic local food, all the while explaining the origins of the local specialties and the historic context. The Flavors of Athens food tour with George was excellent. We got to taste pastries, Greek coffee, visit the market and taste more cheese and prosciutto-like delicacies. Excellent tour of Acropolis
Our family of five met Vivian who toured us through the Acropolis and the museum. She was very knowledgeable in the archeology, art and history of Greece. The kids really connected with provided access to iPads that imaged the buildings, inside and out, as they looked when used (picture). Her enthusiasm was contagious. THE BEST TOUR GUIDES
Athens Insiders arranged four days of our family's travel. Their staff are brilliant. Highly-educated and engaging, flexible and gracious. They brought the Acropolis, Delphi and Plaka alive for my children, 9 and 10. They arranged some very special experiences for the kids, particularly visiting an olive grove near Delphi and a pottery studio in Plaka. We're used tour guides in many other cities and have never had as positive an experience, can't recommend these folks highly enough.

Best way to start our vacation
Eleni and George, our tour guides, were absolutely amazing. The walking tour was the best way to start off our vacation. My husband and I enjoy both food and history and this was the perfect combination. If you don't have much time in Athens and want to really see and taste the city, this is the best way to do it. All Around Great Experience
We did two tours through Athens Insiders: the food tour and the tour of the Acropolis. For the food tour we had George who was a chef and was very clearly very knowledgeable. He gave us history and details about various ingredients and traditional Greek dishes. He also gave a more authentic look into the Greek food culture by taking us off the touristy path, including a tour of a fish and meat market and various cafes that offered specialized dishes. Our second tour was with Maria who as knew the ins and outs of history, archeology, and mythology of Greece. On this tour we walked all around the Acropolis and through Plaka. Yannis' Food Tour was EXCELLENT!
Did a walking food tour with Yannis as our guide. He was EXCELLENT!! (I really don't think I put enough exclamation points). He was very flexible to the needs of our group of 7 and provided a great mix of Athens food and historic sites, but also he was relaxed and not rushed. We thoroughly enjoyed his company, and his extensive knowledge. I highly recommend Athens Insiders and specifically Yannis to anyone looking for a relaxed tour of Athens grastronomy and its various neighborhoods and sites.

Impressive
We booked the tour through TripAdvisor reviews. I confess that I was afraid, because I don't like tours organized in advance, I like to feel the moment. But the tour exceeded expectations. Our guide was Yannis. We talked a little bit about everything, from ancient Greek history to the current geopolitical situation. He took us to the tallow stores behind Iliada in ancient Greek, which I'm sure I wouldn't be able to do on my own. We did an olive oil tasting and talked about Greek wines. We ended up on a food street. The differential of this tour is to be in improvisation, tailor-made according to the wishes of the moment. This is unique!
Walking Tour of Athens, Museums and Cape Sounion
The guides that led each of our three tours really brought Athens to life for us. The guides are personable and very knowledeable. They were able to convey lots of information for my teenage son, a real ancient history buff, introduce us to Plaka and guide us to delicious food. Had I known about this gem, I would have hired them instead of driving around Greece myself.

Natasha from Athens Insiders explained everything to our mixed group (20 people: friends, relatives, 15-81 years old) in a long and tailored walk through the city center of Athens, everything about the history, sights, the Easter customs of the Athenians, political and social situation of the Greeks - in short it was a perfect introduction to a very nice week's city vacation.
Treasure Hunt tour great for kids
I chose the treasure hunt tour because I wanted something that can keep my boys, ages 11-6, engaged. The Athens Insider treasure hunt tour did not disappoint! My 3 active boys were completely into it from start to finish. The concept is great with a mix of drawing, coloring, crossword, deciphering pictograms, jigsaw puzzles, spot the difference, map reading and storytelling. There's even a spot of Greek coffee brewing for mommy and daddy. There were stops for snacks, ice cream, and souvenirs and a bit of pocket money included in the goody bag to buy these small things. Our guide was Niky who was incredibly patient with the boys. A great way to remember our holiday in Athens.
Great to get to know Athens in a closer way
We did this tour after spending a couple of days in the city and it discovered many things, both about ancient history and especially about the current city and the tastes and traditions and places that Athenians frequent today. One of the few tours that has really surprised us, especially because of the close treatment of the guides. It has been a real pleasure, I recommend it without a doubt :)

Great Personalised Tours
We spent three days in Athens and to really understand the city we decided to look for a tour guide. After fairly intensive research, we decided on Athens Insiders to take us around the city. After some consultation with Athens Insiders, we decided to do the Kids Treasure Hunt, Highlights of Athens and Cape Sounio, and Acropolis Tour. Of these, our favorite place was undoubtedly Cape Sounio. Amazing service and coordination
We booked two tours in Athens (Acropolis beyond and Flavors of Athens) and a 1 night excursion in Delphi. They were very responsive and flexible to anything we might have asked for. All tours were tailored to the interests and pace of our children (age 6 and 8) and our days went on without a glitch. On our excursion we really went off the path avoiding the tourist places and going where locals go. We were also quite impressed by our guides and driver, they were all very knowledgeable, fun and their English were excellent.

I booked a private tour with Athens Insiders. I am very interested in Greek gastronomy, since the Mediterranean diet is very famous in Georgia. The whole experience exceeded my expectations. We had so many tastings and our guide Giannis was very knowledgeable and he was able to answer to the most difficult questions. A definitely must do for all the people who like good guide.
Wonderful experience
I was assigned a guide/driver for my week long trip through the Peloponnese, and my experience could not have been better. Everything worked with clockwork precision, and I also got to spend a week with one of the nicest, most interesting, and helpful people that I have ever met. This 4 hours food tour in the streets of Athens was the highlight of our vacations in Greece. George our chef/guide was so passionate about Greek gastronomy, he is also a new friend. This food tour exceeded our expectations, in our last stop of the tour, we had the chance to have some cold cuts accompanied by the local spirit raki and make a thorough conversation about the current financial situation of Greece. At that point we realized that George apart from being a chef, he could tell us everything about the current political and financial situation of Greece, which was very much appreciated. 12 wonderful days
We booked a 12 day private trip across mainland Northern Greece with Athens Insiders. Anthia was very responsive on planning our tour and we loved all the activities she proposed us. During our trip our driver and all the guides were knowledgeable and always willing to assist us on every request. Perfect tours!!!
We did three tours in Athens (Acropolis, the Temple of Poseidon and the food tour) and then a private tour, Mycenae, Epidaurus, Olympia and Delphi. The guides were fantastic. They were knowledgable, answered questions, flexible and friendly. They knew the sites and worked around weather and timed our trips perfectly (we were almost alone when we toured Olympia). Acropolis and Flavors of Athens Tours: Book it!
We went on Acropolis Architectural tour with Alexandra and the Flavors of Athens tour with Yorgos. Both them are very knowledgeable of their subjects. We learned a great deal about the Acropolis itself and it's surrounding area, as well as other historical sights. Yorgos took us to some fabulous places that had some delightful treats. I am glad we did not eat breakfast because it was plenty of food on the tour, and everything was delicious. You get to taste a bit of everything (i.e. olives, cheeses, Kelbasa, cured meats, desserts, etc).
Both Alexandra and Yorgos were very friendly, entertaining and accommodating.
Hike to Delphi on the ancient stone path
The Athens Insiders were great! We had a private road trip and then hike on the ancient trail to Delphi that concluded with a tour of the ruins as well as the museum. "Hog" and Nikko were both great for information as well as just to hang out with for the day. We also had lunch after the hike as this was a very full day! We enjoyed every minute. The trail hike was on the long side (about 7 miles) on a mix of dirt trail and ancient stone path. The views of the Aegean sea were incredible as were the views of Delphi from above on the trail. Thanks guys for a great day!!

Best day of our tour of Greece! We were taken on a tour of Delphi and the surrounding area. Our guide, Jahnus, not sure if I spelled that right, was fantastic. Our tour guide at Delphi, Christina, was also top notch, we learned so much about an incredibly interesting magical place. We went to the largest olive tree grove in Greece, met Mr. V Kanatas who served us the best olive oil and olive pate. Swam in beautiful water. Just a fantastic day. Night out with the Athens Insiders
I booked a private Athens by night tour with my friends. We went through several bars I had no idea they existed. We had the opportunity to try some of the most distinctive greek beers from microbreweries, which as we were informed by our guide Giannis, is THE new trend in Greece. Comfortable Greek Island Food Tour
Initially we contacted the insiders of Athens and booked an architectural tour in Athens. My wife and I are both senior architects. After extensive communication with Anthia via email, we finally contacted Athens Insiders Tours to arrange the whole journey according to our plan. My husband and I came to Athens for our honeymoon. We had the "Flavors of Athens" four-hour private walking tour. It was amazing! Our guide George was a chef and a Greece native. We cannot say enough about him. He tailored our experience to things we were interested in. As we were passing certain historical sites, he gave us a brief explanation at each one, which we loved! He took us to the local pastry shop, a Greek coffee shop where we were able to watch how Greek coffee is made. We had a wonderful tour with Marialena this morning, a half-day tour of the Acropolis and Acropolis Museum. First of all, when we arrived in our hotel, we were pleasantly surprised to find a little welcome bag demo Athens Insiders! Such a nice touch. This morning, Marialena picked us up at our hotel and spent a great half-day with us. She told great stories, really engaged the kids (ages 9 and 5), and made it an unforgettable experience. We also added on the iPad virtual reality experience at the Acropolis, which the kids loved. Great tour - highly recommend!
Thoroughly Enjoyable Afternoon Out
First and foremost, Athens Insiders did a great job of accommodating a last-minute tour request. I wouldn't have blamed them if they had decided to say "too bad, too late, maybe next time", but they worked with me throughout the day before my tour to customize the experience. Our guide, Yannis, was incredibly knowledgeable and an overall interesting guy. He showed us areas of the city we wouldn't have thought to explore otherwise and shared stories of Athen's past and present while helping us explore the Greek food scene. Great for kids
We booked the Athens Treasure Hunt for our family and it was a fantastic combination of sights, tastes and secrets. We saw many things that we wouldn't have found on our own which made the Athens experience more memorable, localised and definitely engaged our 'tween' daughter. I won't give away all the surprises but it wasn't just a solve the clues experience. It was also really interesting for us as grown ups. Really loved this.

We booked two tours through Athens Insider's website before we left for our trip- private 4 hour of the Acropolis and museum, and the food of Athens tour. We enjoyed both tours and were so charmed by the guides, their knowledge and warm attention that we booked

My two girls ages 10 and 6 thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the Peloponnese arranged by Athens Insider and hosted by Alex. Alex picked us up in Athens in the comfort of a private mini-van offering us tasty Greek treats as we drove to Corinth, Acocorinth and on to Nafplio on the first day. Nafplio is a charming venetian style port town with lots of lovely restaurants and shops. I had the opportunity to enjoy their morning tour, In Pericles’ Times, with my children and my mom. This tour is geared towards families with a focus on keeping learning fun for kids.
What a fun way to learn about Athens and a lovely introduction to Greek history for my children. I loved the hands-on experience of learning, and knowledge the Insiders’ offered. An archaeological tour of Greece without stress
This was the first tour company that seemed interested in providing transport, accommodation and guides (where necessary) for our long planned tour of all the major archaeological sites of mainland Greece. The others seemed determined to take us where they thought we should go. Our decision to use this firm was fortuitous since they provided us with a hassle free tour over 2 weeks of all the places we wanted to see. The accommodation was superior whenever it was available and the local restaurants they introduced us to provided memorable meals. Menu customized to meet our demands. Involved an In-depth elaboration of entrees personally selected to represent Athens Cuisine. Our evening was filled with comfort, laughter, enjoyment, history of Athens food, cultural ingredients, and cutting cutting-edge food. Our tour encompassed a one on one tour showcasing the various restaurants of athens; stopping off by common bar for fine champagne; and enduring an eloaborate fine Culinary experience. A time we will never forget. Aleria restaurant is a hiden gem deserving of recognition from individuals serious about food. Food & drink tour
Yannis was our tour leader. He was very knowledgeable about Greek history and shared it. He led us though old Athens shopping, eating, and antique areas. The sit-down restaurant we were scheduled to visit was so crowded, he was on the phone scheduling another. It was the most perfect choice of the two. He & the manager selected a variety of tapas for out group of 9 to enjoy. He arranged for a driver to take several on a private tour of the Acropolis and other sites; he led the remaining travelers back to hotel via the metro.

Marialena was the best tour guide. She gave us so much more information than we could have asked for. She also showed us the highlights and the most important artifacts instead of wasting time with every little detail which we really appreciated. She felt like a close friend by the end of the tour. Super flexible private tour
The insiders created the perfect private tour based on our interests and schedule. We wanted to explore less known neighbourhood and discover the street art scene, but we were only available on the late afternoon. That was not at all a problem for them. The tour was very casual and smooth and the informations, very interesting.

We were a group of friends with 3 kids who have a nasty experience with our airline company. We were supposed to arrive in Athens at 6PM and arrived at 12PM. So just after a “small” 6 hours delay :( we arrived in Athens at midnight. To be honest I don’t know many people, who would take their time to wait for you for this long to take you to the rented house. Alex did and for this has all my appreciation! He also offered and tried to help us with the rental car company who of course closed their offices at that hour! I truly recommend their services and be sure that you can count on them.
The Best ever Personalised Tour
Three generations travelling together can be hard to keep entertained. Not for Anthia and Alexis of Athens Insiders. Our tour of Delphi was sensational. They modified the trip to ensure that the guide at Delphi spoke perfect English and was able to relate to children and engage them. We also wanted to finish the tour with lunch at a Taverna where the kids could swim. They found the perfect spot. Nothing was too much trouble and they were informative as guides. Excellent Acropolis tour
My family only had one day in Athens and wanted to make the most of it. Our tour included the Acropolis, Ancient Agora, and a walk through the surrounding neighborhoods. It was informative and lots of fun. Had we tried to do this on our own I'm sure my kids would have pooped out after an hour or two- the tour kept us going for hours! Pricy, but if you can afford this I recommend it highly.

Foodie Treat
Yannis was at our hotel at the agreed upon time. At first we were a bit taken aback as he came with a TShirt and back pack, no badge but not to worry, that was the start of a wonderful 4hours. We walked from store to coffee shop to pastry to souvlaki to greek deli to ice cream shop to grocery to central market and on and on. It was remarkable and fantastic. Yannis took us to places that have been in business for over 100 yeaqrs and all within blocks of our hotel yet we would have walked right by them. Athens Insiders is terrific
We used them summer of 2014 and were totally smitten. One tour was an Athens "food tour." He took us to markets, a tripe soup place, various hidden gems -- and explained the food. Another was a tour focused on politics and youth culture (a request of ours). The tour guides were intelligent, friendly, very attuned to our interests. Also great ideas for what we should do on our own and where should we eat. We 100% recommend them.

we selected art, architecture and food as our main interest. out tour guide Yannis took us to beautiful hidden gems of Greek architecture explaining all the back stories that we wouldn't have found out on our own or with a typical city tour. we also visited few cafes and shops that served authentic Greek food.

We had a week to spend in Athens during New Years. We decided to contact Athens Insiders to see if they could suggest an itinerary both in Athens and for a side trip. As usual they were prompt and gave us several options. We decided to spend a few days in Nafplia and see the historic sites and visit some wineries. We had the same guide George from a previous visit and was once again extremely pleased. They coordinated a driver for us as well, and it was perfect for us. best private guided tour you can ever take anywhere in the world and i have taken many. i had signed up for the Tsipouro tasting tour at the museum of gastronomy and it was truly an adventure to get an incredible guided tour around Plaka. Jannis is an incredibly well read and knowledgeable person that has passion for his city and its history. Natalie was very sweet and sent me home with a small bottle of my favorite Tsipouro.. every time i go to Athens it will be either a guide tour, taste tour, cooking tour or any other tour

Make the best use of your time
There is so much to see and so much history to absorb in Athens, it can be overwhelming, if you are not taking a group tour. Since my sister and I are not group tour fans and we have been to Athens before, we wanted a personalized walking tour. Our guide, a pleasant, knowledgeable young woman, tailored the tour to our needs, and we were very pleased with the results. We were with her for a few hours and she expertly answered our questions and was very friendly, informative and spoke excellent English. It was a relaxed pace and we enjoyed it very much. Fantastic custom tour! Our guide Yannis new something about everything! He gave us great information about the history of Athens, took us to a small neighborhood under the acropolis and gave us great insider information I can't imagine learning anywhere else. We also asked for some food and wine tasting and Yannis delivered. Very extensive knowledge about Greek wine. He was fun and entertaining and we had a fantastic couple of hours with him.
A unique and excellent experience
We reached out to Athens Insiders several months before going to Greece and were immediately impressed by them. One of the co-founders communicated with us several times to be sure our walk would be customized to our interests, time schedule and even to consider the fact that my sister has bad asthma that makes walking uphill and some other activities very difficult. Every time i travel, i like to feel like i've scraped under the skin of a place. I had about 7 hours in Athens and booked a private tour with this company. Simply wonderful. I actually had two lovely tour guides. They switched off at lunch. Charming, well-educated, perfectly fluent in English, young women who made me feel like a prince. We saw what we needed to see, they took some great photographs of me around the city, and fed me VERY WELL! We saw all the historic sights, Anthia took us to a local coffee shop and bargaining with merchants. Beautiful person inside and out, we developed a friendship in just 4 short hours! Definitely wear your walking shoes...ask for modified tour if you can't walk 3-4 miles in one night...would highly recommend!!!

Whirlwind tour of Athens
We had 2 nights and one day in Athens and thanks to Athens by Insiders we ate at fantastic restaurants at night and made the most of our Athens in 24hrs experience with a personalised tour of the city. Different guides handled different aspects. From flavours and tastes to dusty ruins and funky neighbourhoods, we managed to touch on it all. The guides were passionate about their subject matter, well informed and a pleasure to spend a day walking the streets of Athens with. A truly worthwhile and fantastic experience
Signilar Painting Holiday
I too was on the trip that my more articulate roommate describes following. After meeting and having drinks with our trip planners on the day we arrived, we went up to our room to get settled. I stepped out on our balcony to call home and there in front of me was the Acropolis lite up against the night sky. This was typical of the daily delights we experience with Athens Insiders. What a great way to spend your first evening in Athens
After two flights totally 11 hours of fly time, my wife and I arrived at our hotel in Athens late in the afternoon. We always like to time zone adjust our international travel as soon as possible and embarking on some short excursion is our preferred choice. A friend had told us about Athens Insider and suggested the walking tour/cooking class combination. At 5 PM, George met us at the hotel and we were off. He is an excellent guide and, believe me, an even better chef! [...]''
Fun Two Days of Touring in Athens
We used Athens Insiders for two day's worth of tours and our airport transfers. They handled everything so easily and I can't thank them enough for making Athens enjoyable for us. Anthia took us on a half day walking tour around the Acropolis. It was a nice leisurely walk, with interesting stops and history lessons along the way. On the second day we met Chef George and toured the markets and local shops. He was a lot of fun, and we concluded our day with him by having a leisurely lunch and learning the proper way to drink Ouzo. I highly recommend Athens Insiders!
These guys made me love Athens
I'm not a big city girl at ALL and so I arranged this tour with Athens Insiders (at the suggestion of a friend) so I could have a more personalized, hands-on tour. It was perfect. I wish I had delayed a day so I wasn't so tired, but that's my own fault.
Really great, personalized experience. Got an excellent feel for Athens, LOVE the city. The guides felt more like friends than guides. Daphne even invited me out for dinner with some friends the following evening. Very grateful to have met these ladies.
Amazing food and great people
We got picked up at our hotel lobby by or executive chef, George and he took us around the local markets and gave us some insight as to where the food comes from and what makes it so special. We ended up in a very nice house where George and his assistant started explaining us the menu we chose and how we were going to proceed. Everything was so fresh! We pureed our own tomatoes for the sauce, learned how to do everything in our 5 course dinner in a hands on approach. It was a blast and the freshness of the food and quality of the preparation was so good we can still taste it. We also got professional pics and the recipes to keep with us so we can try to reinvent it ourselves. A great experience, a must-do!
Amazing Way to Experience Athens
We spent an afternoon touring Athens on foot with Anthia and can't say more about our experience. The group was made up of just the 3 of us (myself, my fiancé & Anthia) and because of this the tour was very personalised and flexible. When we felt like stopping for a quick drink we did and Anthia was able to give us tailored information and recommendations. She also took us to places that we would not have normally been able to see in a big tour group and explained the current political and economic context on top of just the historical facts. It was absolutely lovely... a highlight of our visit!

A day in the heart of Athens
Unforgettable walk through the heart of Athens led by Athens Insiders. From the picturesque apartment that they recommended to us, we avoid urban chaos to enter a labyrinth of streets discovering its small cafes and delicious taverns where we taste aromas and flavors and embrace for a few hours, the local culture. A highly recommended experience for those who wish to get away from conventional tourism and enjoy the best corners of the city, like just another Athenian.
Wonderful day tour
We shared a day with Anthia and Natalie and went to the Acropolis, the old part of Athens, markets, and parts of Athens we would never have thought to visit ourselves. They gave us restaurant suggestions and took us to a "locals" restaurant for lunch. They were very informative and we felt like we were doing a day tour with friends and family. I would defintiely do another tour with the girls and hhighly recommend anyone coming to Athens to do this tour particularly if you are only there for a short time in Athens.
Brilliant tour

Yanna took us on a walking tour of parts of Athens that we would never have seen as tourists, as well as some of the more usual fascinating sights. The best way to see, hear, feel and taste a city.
For anyone who wants to experience a city the locals way. Athens insiders was a real treat. Athens is not an easy city to negotiate if you are new to it. The guys took on what I wanted to see, hear, feel and taste and gave me the full works.
I loved it. Would definatley use them again and look forward to them expanding to other cities. This should be the way forward for tourism. No more drudgery and tourist trails, instead unique hand picked passage tailored to suit the individuals needs.

Myself and my husband just came back from Athens where we had a great tour with Athens Insiders.We are no big history buffs and were looking for a tour that would cover a bit of everything, and our guide Anthia gave us just that!!! She was very friendly and considerate and shared really interesting information with us. We learnt all sort of things about the city of Athens and Greek people, and felt really pampered. Its one of the best tours we have ever done and we definitely recommend it!
